Gold Prospecting Hiking Tour is your unique chance to enjoy an easy yet meaningful escape in Lapland. We begin this tour with a relaxed start in a cosy accommodation where you settle in, enjoy good meals and meet the group. From there a transfer takes us to the Lemmenjoki riverbank where a large boat slowly carries us deeper into the Lemmenjoki National Park. The hike itself is only about fifteen kilometres, which makes the tour ideal for beginners as well.

Once in the valley you try gold digging and panning with a real prospector, unwind in a gentle wilderness sauna and dip into a clear mountain stream. During this hiking tour we also visit the most remote library in the world, hidden in the middle of Lapland’s backcountry. After couple of nights in tents the journey ends back at the same lovely hotel where we share a final dinner together.

This is your moment to step back in time and experience Lapland’s unique atmosphere. This tour is suitable also for a solo travellers.

Northern Lights Hiking Tour is an experience where you challenge yourself in raw and pure northern nature and explore the true autumn wilderness of Lapland without any marked trails. It may sound very adventurous, yet it is completely safe and rewarding under the guidance of professional wilderness experts. We begin the hiking tour in nice and cosy accommodation so you can rest well before heading into the untouched nature. Once we enter the wilderness area, the marked paths disappear and we spend the week moving in complete solitude, following the terrain and choosing our route step by step. There are usually no other hikers, phones stop working and we travel entirely on nature’s terms. We camp where the weather and landscape guide us and live a simple wilderness routine focused only on what truly matters.

During the journey you may spot reindeer grazing and various autumn migratory and bird-of-prey species. As the evenings grow darker, the northern lights appear on most nights because this is the peak season for Aurora Borealis. We also ascend Mountain Ropi, 945m, which opens a wide panorama over the entire wilderness and provides a clear physical goal in the middle of the week.

Northern Lights Hiking Tour suits adventure-minded hikers, couples, groups of friends and solo travellers who want to experience Lapland’s autumn wilderness in the most authentic way and are ready to step away from the structures of everyday life. At the end of the trek we return to accommodation, where you can unwind before your journey home. This tour is designed for those who want to unplug from the fast pace of daily life.

Pihka Outdoors’ Cross Country Ski Tour to Halti is designed for adventure-driven skiers who want to test their physical and mental capacity in proper arctic winter conditions. You can join this tour if your general fitness is solid and your mindset toward winter trekking adventure is open. We begin the journey in cosy accommodation, where you have time to prepare yourself before transferring to starting point, Kilpisjärvi. From there, the slow and steady progression toward Finland’s highest point, Halti, begins.

We travel on cross country touring skis and pull pulkas, which naturally keeps the pace calm and consistent. The route follows a hut-to-hut rhythm and a safe itinerary has been planned in advance. Phone reception disappears shortly after entering the wilderness, which cuts everyday noise completely. Days unfold in a landscape of untouched snow and open fells, and the winter wilderness shows very clearly what real arctic nature feels like. Evenings in the wilderness hut create structure for the expedition, with time to eat, melt snow for water, dry gear and prepare for the next stage.

The tour offers a clear physical objective and the chance to experience the wilderness exactly as it is. This suits those who value an honest winter challenge and want to see how their body and mind respond when conditions make no concessions. At the end of the journey we return to accommodation, where you can relax before heading home.

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to ski with a pulka and wilderness skis, just like the explorers who travel toward the polar regions. Now you have the chance to experience an entry level ski trek in the real winter of Lapland. Before heading out with the team, we stay comfortably indoors and prepare for the journey. After that, we begin a calm and steady nordic skiing into the snowy wilderness. Along the route, wilderness huts offer shelter and warmth. After 3 nights you will return to civilisation relaxed and recharged with a completely new kind of energy. Read more about this ski adventure designed for beginners.
