What are the best snowshoes for Lapland?

We would say Tubbs! Tubbs company was founded in the United States in 1906, where they started their operations with old wooden snowshoes. However, the modern snowshoes has an aluminum frame which guarantees the lightness of the shoe. 

You can find different models in our adventure storage:

  • Tubbs Wilderness 25″, which is suitable for basic snowshoeing on trails and in deep snow. Recommended weight limit for this model is 80kg.
  • Tubbs Wilderness 30″, which is suitable for a deeper and softer snow. Due to its size this shoe is not at its best on pre-made trails. Recommended weight limit for this model is 95kg.
  • Tubbs Flex VRT 24″, which is suitable for basic use and long distance hiking. Recommended weight limit for this model is 80kg.

We begin the journey in cosy accommodation, where you have time to prepare yourself before transferring to starting point, Kilpisjärvi. From there, the slow and steady progression toward Finland’s highest point, Halti, begins.
